Black Huacaya (Mostly!) Herd Available!
Our breeding stock consists of 11 black females (plus 1 light brown girl) & our herdsire & junior herdsire are both bay black.
Our 2 yearlings are dark fawn Irene, sired by CCNF Royal Ring of Fire, & Davin, a surprise beige male out of our true black Marylu & true black STF Jetson.
This year's crias are 3 Peruvian Lancaster offspring (1 true black girl, 1 light brown girl & 1 dark brown male) & a dark fawn male cria sired by Lightfoot's Bellafonti bred to Fayette, our NA Lord Forrester daughter.

Blue Star Alpacas is located in the beautiful rolling hills of Jackson in midcoast Maine. The farm has 30 acres of cleared land surrounded by 80 acres of woods.
Currently, our herd consists of 23 huacayas and 2 guard llamas.
Although we specialize in black alpacas, our pastures also contain 2 white animals, several dark brown animals, and even 2 "redheads" (medium brown but very brassy). 2010 brought us 1 beige and 1 medium fawn cria; 2011 brought a true black female, a medium brown female, a bay black male & a dark fawn male.
Pursuing excellence in black huacayas, our bloodlines include Dark Shaddow, Snowmass Nova, Hakuna Matata, Sinopsis Nocturna 527, MFI Peruvian Black Mesquite, MFI Pistol, NA Lord Forrester, Canzelle's Zambezi and STF Jetson.
Occasionally we breed our true black females to select beige or fawn herdsires to boost fleece quality. Our herd now includes offspring of Skyeview Peruvian Trollius, DPA Quetzal, DPA Peruvian Powerplay, and CCNF Royal Ring of Fire. 2011 will bring us 3 cria sired by 6X Color Champion Peruvian Lancaster.
